Googey's year as reigning Captain Springfield is coming to an end, but before we retire the cape to the rafters, Googey is having one final benefit event, this time Googey wants to highlight some of the amazing local theater we have in our community.
Friday July 12 at 730, we are going to be having "A Brief Evening of Theater: A Benefit for Hide Tide Theatrical". (I wanted to make the title even longer but there was a character limit, I had 3 more colons ready to go).
We will be having a preview of the upcoming D.O.T.S. Original Play Festival, which is going to be held in downtown Springfield July 18-21 at the Lightroom Lounge and at the Historic Fox Theatre on the Square.
More information and to buy tickets for the Festival at https://www.dotheatre.org/.
We will also be doing a table read of "Googey's War Room" an alternate future short play about a dark vision of a Captain Googey-less world.
We also have a reading of a recently unearthed 2003 satirical play based on a Carman song (Carman the 80s Christian contemporary singer, yes) written during my time at Evangel. I trust there is nothing at all problematic in it, let's find out together!
Additionally, we have a 10% storewide sale and will be donating 20% of our sales the week of July 8 -13 to High Tide Theatrical.
